Necklaces

For all the jewellery I use a black, waxed synthetic string. It is very strong, light and can be worn in the water. It drapes around your neck nicely, is not as stiff as wire or metal and non allergenic. The necklaces cannot be adjusted for neck size. I also use glass beads to space the paua pieces and reflect the beautiful colours in the shell. Some necklaces have paua all around; others are plaited with some special centre-pieces. The bracelets are either single or double stringed, depending on the size of the pieces.

About the designs

I usually have about 8 to 10 different designs of "all around" necklaces with differently shaped and sized paua pieces. They are my most exclusive and elegant styles (although I wear this style casual and for more elegant occasions). I arrange them mostly, so that the paua pieces decrease in size from the middle to the fastener. Those necklaces have between 35 and 45 beautiful paua pieces.

I also create plaited styles with beautiful differently shaped and sized paua pieces in the centre of the necklace. These can range from 5 to 11 pieces per necklace.

I get inspired by the shapes I find, so there are many different designs available. And mostly, something for every taste.

I also make cute mixed-shell necklaces from NZ$ 23.00 which I have sold to a lot of kids and adults too. Both my kids wear one all the time and get admired a lot.

The all-around necklaces range from NZ $ 100.00 to 150.00 The plaited designs range from NZ$ 45.00 to 85.00
